Important note (18 Nov. 2014): Due to overwhelmingly positive response, and the limited quantity of pumps, we cannot accept any more requests. If you have submitted a request, we will be contacting you shortly.
ALPhA has partnered with the MIT Physics Department and Kimball Physics to distribute 40 vacuum pumps to physics departments around the country. These are Ulvac G-20DA two-stage rough pumps. They are direct-drive oil-sealed rotary vacuum pumps. The pumps can reach an ultimate pressure of about 0.001 Torr and have a pumping speed of roughly 24 L/min. The pumps are useful in many teaching physics laboratory experiments, or as backing pumps for high vacuum experiments. The pumps are unused and in the original factory packaging.
